This is the government department that helps British companies develop their international business.

The DIT Regional Delivery team in the South East has an opening for a confident, enthusiastic and creative individual to join the Marketing & Events Team. The South East International Trade Team delivers export support and a diverse range of activities for small and medium-sized businesses on behalf of the Department for International Trade including additional ERDF projects.

As Events Co-ordinator you will be responsible for project managing the delivery of a diverse programme of events activity including workshops, webinars, conferences, exhibitions and overseas missions. These will be in accordance with DIT, Government & ERDF guidelines.

You should have relevant experience in an Events Management role and educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

You will need to demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude in this varied and diverse role, possess creative flair and combine that with effective demonstration of the experience and skills outlined below:

  • Preferable experience of working within a multi-national organisation or organisation trading internationally.
  • Self-motivated and confident, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Experience in taking event concept requirements from development to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High level of organisation and project planning skills, attention to detail, ability to work to tight deadlines and successfully deal with conflicting priorities.
  • Resourcefulness whilst working under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise multiple demands, make good decisions and action promptly.
  • Experience in planning, managing and delivering large events.

This is the government organisation that helps British companies develop their international business. 

The DiT Regional Delivery team in the South East has an opening in the central Operations Team to help with the efficient administration and delivery of customer support.  The successful candidate will build effective relationships with our regional network of International Trade Advisers across London & the South East and provide a “first touch” customer focused service to companies who are looking to export their products overseas. They will action a range of customer requests and will conduct a structured fact find to understand a company’s export potential, readiness, and eligibility for DiT assistance and then direct them to the most appropriate provider within the DiT teams.

Key requirements:

  • Confident dealing with companies and stakeholders directly
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and confident, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Skilled use of Microsoft suite of business applications
  • Ability to deal effectively with conflicting priorities

In this office based role you will be working to support all areas of the South Operations Team, acting primarily as the first point of contact for companies contacting the Department for International Trade for help and advice.  You will also be required to assist in the administration and processing of other government offerings to companies in London and the South East which includes the processing and delivery of the Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) which is one of the flagship services offered to companies looking to expand their business overseas.  You will need to be confident with good communication skills and able to rapidly build up a rapport with customers in order to ascertain their needs. A knowledge of International Trade would be an advantage although full on the job training will be given.
