Hours of work are between 10:30am – 6:30pm Monday to Friday & 10am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday. Weekends would be worked on a rota basis.

Newable works to unleash the extraordinary potential of Britain's business men and women.  We provide a range of products and services that help people start up, sustain and scale their businesses.  Newable is looking for an ambitious and agile Business Adviser Team Manager to join the Business Advisory team which delivers and leads the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) programme in London.  EEN helps ambitious businesses to innovate and grow internationally.  Jointly funded by the European Commission and Innovate UK, our experts advise and connect those looking to commercialise ideas and succeed in new markets.

We will look to the Business Adviser Team Manager to lead and motivate Advisers in furthering the delivery of our business support services to build the confidence of London businesses through the development of overseas partner matching, accessing finance and finding and developing new products and services.  The Team Manager will map out a plan and deliver it through building a team and ensure that the teams’ action plans are effectively and timeously delivered to budget and to, or exceeding, the agreed quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the Team of Business Advisers and provide direction in support of the projects  and team objectives
  • Drive best practice and service development
  • Deliver a high performance team
  • Champion promotion of funding opportunities for SMEs
  • Help advisers select business support services that meet the agreed needs, from the full range of private and public sector providers

Required skills, qualities and experience

  •  Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of European funding programmes and policies, particularly relating to Enterprise
  • Broad understanding of EU institutions and policy making
  • Planning and project managing – has a project management mind-set that establishes milestones and appropriate courses of action for self and others, ensuring that others are aware of their responsibilities; prioritises competing tasks effectively; manages expectations
  • Good financial, analytical, reasoning and decision-making skills

Department for International Trade is the government organisation that supports British companies to develop business overseas, in part, through its regional network of international trade advisers. DIT wants to expand its reach by recruiting additional advisers including some specialists for the London and the South East regions.

Working for DIT’s delivery partner in London and the South East Newable, you will build effective long term relationships with owners of small and mid-sized businesses to build their international business strategy. As well as the need to advise and mentor companies you will help deliver DIT and partners’ full range of products and services drawing on the support of DIT’s worldwide network.

Newable is looking to fill several DIT International Trade Adviser posts to support companies based in London and the South East Regions.

You will need to have wide-ranging, senior level experience in international trade, be of graduate calibre, together with commercial acumen and a desire to share your experience with growing companies. As an experienced international business person you will use your knowledge to assist between 30-40 owners, directors and managers of small businesses or senior executives of mid-sized businesses each year to take their first steps into new international markets or develop existing markets.

• A background of working with both SMEs and Corporates and the ability to demonstrate empathy for entrepreneurial culture and to build effective relationships at Board level are crucial.
• You will be a confident networker able to build professional relationships with private sector business support providers at the local level. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.

If successful at the first stage, the candidate is invited to the second stage and if successful again to the final stage.
