Newable is seeking a Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of Enterprise Europe Network and provide support for the delivery of ancillary Innovation support programmes. Required is an individual possessing a high level of organisational, analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills to join the Newable Innovation. 

You will join colleagues supporting ambitious and innovation-driven London based SMEs to make the most of opportunities in the European and global markets and to increase their competitiveness through internationalisation and innovation. Enterprise Europe Network also helps companies to find the right international business partners, enhance their innovation capacity and assist them with accessing funding and finance.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Project monitoring, reporting and contractual compliance
  • Multi-project budget management
  • Consortium coordination
  • Communication support
  • Funders and stakeholders relations

 To perform this role to our high standards you must be people-focused, an excellent communicator, analytical and innovative, with excellent planning and execution skills and an interest in European programmes and SME internationalisation. You will be expected to work effectively on your own initiative and have experience of business customer relationship management.

Newable is part of a consortium delivering Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and Horizon 2020 Innovation support programmes (Key Account Management for the SME Instrument and Innovate 2 Succeed). The programmes are powered by European Commission and Innovate UK and aim at support ambitious businesses to grow, innovate and internationalise. Newable is now seeking a highly talented individual with strong expertise in innovation to join its team, delivering services to SMEs in London.

The main purpose of the job is to make a significant contribution to the competitiveness of ambitious, high-growth businesses in London by providing tailored business support under our EEN and H2020 services, which include key account management of SME Instrument awardees, delivery of bespoke support programmes aiming at enhancing SME clients’ innovation management capacity, and delivery of overall EEN business support services.

The ideal candidate would have a background in one or more innovation fields (e.g. access to finance, innovation life-cycle, business model/plan, market validation) and knowledge and experience in assisting SMEs, directors and managers overcome barriers to exploiting their ideas commercially. 

A team player approach and the ability to demonstrate empathy for entrepreneurial culture and to build effective relationships at Board level are crucial. You will be a confident networker and be able to build professional relationships with private sector business support providers at local level.  Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Identifying innovative businesses with the highest growth potential for commercialisation their ideas 
  • Deliver innovation mentoring and account management services, acting as a mentor to clients to support them in developing their own long term innovation strategy 
  • Use holistic analysis tools to diagnose and assess client needs and provide tailored support to address these needs
  • Assisting clients to prioritise issues and identify potential courses of action 
  • Provide advice on access to funding (securing grant funding), access to finance (raising investment), Intellectual Property, internationalisation, technology transfer and business strategy
  • Build awareness of our support programmes by organising and participating at events that increase take up of the service
  • Achieve individual targets and contribute to overall team KPIs and strategy.

To perform this role to our high standards, you must be customer-focused, an excellent communicator, analytical and innovative, with excellent planning and execution skills. The candidate should also be proactive, self-motivated and results-oriented.

Newable Group is looking to appoint a Business Adviser with excellent analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills to establish a supportive relationship with a wide range of people and organisations to join the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) within Newable Innovation.

The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) project is jointly funded by the European Commission and Innovate UK with the aim of boosting the internationalisation and technological development of UK SMEs. You will join colleagues at Newable Innovation, the lead EEN partner organisation in the London region, to support London’s businesses to make the most of opportunities in the European market and to increase their competitiveness through internationalisation and innovation, and assisting them to meet their capital requirements. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying relevant funding and finance streams and advising SMEs during applications
  • Locating relevant commercial and/or technical cooperation partners for SMEs
  • Carrying out specialist technology audits to support SMEs
  • Acting as a credible strategic coach and mentor to client businesses to identify them and support them in their development
  • Identifying, establishing and managing relationships with business support organisations, and professional business introducers to obtain client referrals for the EEN

You will ideally be familiar with the EEN or will need to rapidly acquire an in-depth understanding of the EEN and its on-line tools and processes. Pre-knowledge/experience of these processes and experience of working with innovative and high growth SMEs will be a distinct advantage. You will work alongside a team of EEN and Innovation advisers, sharing/referring expertise as required. You will need to have excellent networking, project management, reporting and communication skills, be familiar with the UK and EU funding schemes such as Horizon 2020 which are aimed at SME innovation, and be generally familiar with the regional and national business support infrastructure. To perform this role to our high standards, you must be people-focused, an excellent communicator, analytical and innovative, with excellent planning and execution skills. You will be expected to work effectively on your own initiative and have experience of business customer relationship management.

Local travel to companies and occasional travel to other EU locations will be involved.
