In today’s rapidly evolving marketplace, an adaptable and resilient supply chain is not just an asset, it’s a necessity!

More than ever, large businesses recognise the untapped potential of diversifying their supplier base and the social value of using the local businesses around them. Embracing an inclusive supply chain equips these companies to navigate market changes with agility and substantially enhances their economic and social footprint.

The Inclusive Supply Chain Programme is a pioneering initiative in partnership with London South Bank University. This programme provides access to London’s vast supply chains, championing local opportunities and making under-represented SMEs supply chain ready. By bolstering their capabilities, these SMEs can meet the procurement standards of larger businesses, thereby fostering a more equitable and diverse business ecosystem and providing them with valuable routes to new and profitable work.

Not only does this prepare SMEs to join these larger supply chains, but it also actively connects them with local, regional, and national buyers keen on diversifying their supplier network by opening doors for smaller businesses to be introduced to new contract opportunities previously beyond their reach.

Target sectors included in the programme span a diverse range, from accommodation and the arts to construction, education, food services, and beyond, indicating its commitment to inclusivity across industries.

Since its inception in June 2023, the programme has supported 135 business owners to access supply chains. Of these 70% are ethnic minority-owned, 19% are disable-owned, 53% are male-led and 44% are female-led.

One of our delegates who attended the workshops said:
