One of our business targets is to be amongst the top 1% of companies on ESG by FY28. To this end, in November 2023, Newable created a new position of Chief ESG Officer. This new role continually assess our ESG and Risk-positioning and manage this across our fourteen businesses. Since joining Newable in 2005, Ketty Moseshvili has been instrumental in researching, launching and driving progress against our current ESG strategy. We asked Ketty a few questions about the new role and what’s coming up.

What is the Chief ESG Officer responsible for?

As Chief ESG officer, I lead Newable’s plan for getting into and staying in the top 1% of UK companies on ESG – Environmental, Social and Governance. I am also responsible for helping group companies manage their risks – whilst gaining a competitive advantage and market position.

What inspired you to take on this role?

I have worked for Newable Advice for 18 years and it has always been a real pleasure to work for a company with a purpose. This role works across the whole Group and I hope to help different parts of the business learn from each other. I want to help Newable Group companies really add value using ESG and to help them to win new customers as a result. I started out as a trained chemical and environmental engineer so it will be good to use some of those skills.

What are you most excited for within your new role?

I am looking forward to getting to know the people and businesses from across the whole Group so that together we can deliver even better results, faster.

What are some of the challenges or difficulties you anticipate in your new role?

I am impatient and I dream big and so I want to get on with the role. We have a lot of very different businesses within the group with different challenges which means we have to develop a bespoke and tailored approach for each company. This will take some time and we may not always get it right the first time, but we can apply learnings from each experience and improve our impact as we progress.

What are your main goals and priorities as the Chief ESG Officer?

Essentially, my role is to help Newable be amongst the top 1% of companies on ESG, improve Newable Group’s ESG position through refreshed ESG strategy & reporting, create robust risk management processes and policy oversight, and support revenue-generation in each Newable business with individual ESG approaches.

How will you foster a culture of sustainability across Newable?

Sustainability is based on everyone taking responsibility for their actions, asking questions and looking for opportunity to improve, so my job is to encourage that.
