The Inclusive Supply Chain programme supports local, underrepresented SME’s preparation for joining supply chains by improving their skills to meet the needs of larger businesses. Working with local, regional and national buyers who want to enhance their supply chains, the programme creates opportunities for smaller businesses to connect with larger buyers and find new contracts.
One of our participants shares her experience and journey on the programme.
A female entrepreneur who represents artists in the creative industries met her specialist adviser, Tim Wells, at a networking event in 2020. Since meeting, he has been instrumental in supporting her business journey.
As a neurodivergent individual, she faced numerous challenges due to unclear processes. She often struggled to understand the terminology used, making it difficult for her to grasp the information being presented.
Recently, she joined the Inclusive Supply Chain programme, where Tim helped her navigate the necessary policies and clarified the terminology needed to engage with larger supply chains. They invested considerable time in mastering negotiation techniques tailored to her needs, which proved to be successful.
“I now understand the language and terminology used by local councils and larger B2B buyers. I feel more confident in my negotiating skills and have all the relevant documents and policies in place.”
