The Inclusive Supply Chain programme supports local, underrepresented SME’s to get ready to join supply chains by improving their skills to meet the needs of larger businesses. Working with local, regional and national buyers who want to enhance their supply chains. This creates opportunities for smaller businesses to connect with larger buyers and find new contracts.
Rosemary Martin, CEO of Stepping to Success, one of our participants shares her experience and journey on the programme.
Stepping to Success delivers a programme that provides a variety of resources, workshops, training and online activities to help users develop important skills and values. By building these skills, we create a strong foundation of good principles that support emotional stability. This is achieved through engaging activities and gamification.
Our journey began in April 2023 and ended in December 2024. During this time, our adviser, Maria Anubi offered valuable guidance. We also received both virtual and face-to-face support by attending many events and workshops.
Before this programme, we found it difficult to access larger supply chains because bigger businesses dominated the education sector. We did not know how to get started, lacked a solid structure and were not prepared to be suppliers. Additionally, we struggled to find guidance and networking opportunities.
The programme helped us build a strong foundation, allowing us to stand out as a business that can deliver and exceed expectations. We learnt how to recognise our strengths and received support to improve our weaknesses.
As a result of this help, we now feel confident speaking to companies we once thought were out of reach. While we have not yet secured a contract with a large buyer, we have found many other opportunities and believe success is just around the corner.
“Since starting the programme, we have successfully completed an anti-radicalisation project for the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime. This project was featured on the Mayor of London’s website, and we are also excited about an upcoming press release regarding our anti-knife crime project.”
