The Inclusive Growth London programme is designed to support micro and small businesses that are female-owned and/or disabled-owned, operating in Camden, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, or Westminster. The programme provides scale-up business support across these boroughs and aims to strengthen the confidence and resilience of underrepresented business owners to unlock growth opportunities.
Jackie Crank, Co-Founder of Pack and Clowder shares her experiences as a participant on the programme.
Pack and Clowder is a retail business that sells animal care products for cats and dogs. It operates two retail sites, in addition to three weekly markets which are a core element of the business. They are also exploring online sales. Jackie and her business partner, and Co-Director Caroline O’Mahoney, joined the Inclusive Growth London programme to gain inspiration for growing their business. They received personalised advice from specialist adviser, Sophie Baker and took part in a site visit to BatchWorks, a circular manufacturing company in London.
“Sophie was very engaged with our business. She understood who we are and what we stand for. She listened and provided valuable advice, suggestions and contacts. She also offered guidance on potential directions for the business. After our meetings with Sophie, we felt inspired to refine and enhance our social media strategy. The visit to BatchWorks was very inspirational and encouraged us to reach out to them about a new project to develop together.
As a 10-year-old business, it has been beneficial for us to see our work from a fresh perspective and to receive input and inspiration from a different source. This experience was motivational and has put us in contact with BatchWorks, from whom we hope to receive support in bringing our plan to produce our own sustainable line of products to fruition.
