The Inclusive Growth London programme is designed to support micro and small female-owned and/or disabled-owned businesses with the potential to grow, based or trading in Camden, Hackney, Tower Hamlets or Westminster. It delivers scale up business support across the boroughs and aims to strengthen confidence and resilience in underrepresented business owners to unlock growth opportunities.
Darren Crowder, CEO and Founder of Enbodie shares his experiences of being a participant on the programme.
Why did you join the Inclusive Growth London programme?
The Inclusive Growth London programme provides access to diverse markets and networks, which can help Enbodie expand its customer base and improve market penetration. Additionally, by supporting underrepresented groups, Enbodie can contribute to a more equitable business environment and foster a culture of inclusivity, aligning with its mission to respect diversity.
Being part of this programme has allowed Enbodie to engage with a collaborative ecosystem that promotes mutual growth and learning among participants. This includes introductions to universities and other like-minded start-ups. The programme also aligns with UK policies on inclusivity and sustainable growth, enhancing Enbodie’s reputation and credibility in the UK market.
How did you find the support you received from the programme?
I found the support to be excellent, both virtually and in-person. The team has assisted us in various ways with advice, connections, networking opportunities and support tailored to our needs as a start-up just beginning our growth journey. We have gained skills in financial planning, operational scaling and developed clearer value propositions.
“Initially I did not anticipate the level of tailored support and mentorship I would receive, which has significantly enhanced our ability to connect with diverse markets and scale more effectively while fostering a more inclusive business environment. The programme’s focus on support, guidance and building confidence with resilience aligns perfectly with our company’s mission to address the unmet needs of diverse communities.
An unexpected outcome has been the expansion of our network through strategic partnerships, insights and events, leading to new opportunities for sustainable growth and innovation, such as collaborations with BSI and MHRA. The advice I received has been invaluable and has made a tremendous impact.
